The persons used the Visual Thermometer to plan their outdoor activities. It was found to be a learning tool for persons who are mentally challenged, persons with learning problems, persons with brain injuries, persons migrating to the United States, elderly people and persons with memory losses.
This colorful patent-pending thermometer shows what clothes to wear at different temperatures. It will help a wide range of people, i.e. children within the autism spectrum, persons with brain injuries, and pre-schoolers. It will teach, and remind, these persons how to dress appropriately with the temperature. It is 12.5 inches in diameter and comes completely assembled, ready to hang. There is a choice of three dial faces to accommodate regional climates (65 degrees in Florida is jacket weather, while 65 degrees in Wisconsin is shorts weather!) Closed coil movement (NO MERCURY) is easily adjustable to ensure correct readings. Terrific for home or school.
Standard Dial face
-40 to 40 degrees = coat weather
40 to 60 degrees = jacket weather
60 to 75 degrees = shirt and pants weather
75 degrees and up = shorts weather
Northern Dial face
-40 to 30 degrees = coat weather
30 to 50 degrees = jacket weather
50 to 65 degrees = shirt and pants weather
65 degrees and up= shorts weather
Southern Dial face
-40 to 50 degrees = coat weather
50 to 65 degrees = jacket weather
65 to 80 degrees = shirt and pants weather
80 degrees and up = shorts weather
